This is a Sources Sought synopsis to determine the availability of potential sources capable of sustaining the US Naval War Colleges (NWC) need for a software-defined IT infrastructure that virtualizes all of the elements of conventional hardware-defined systems. NWC requires equipment to interoperate with the current implementation of networks for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or Server Infrastructure. This includes virtualized computing (a hypervisor), software-defined storage, and virtualized networking (software-defined networking). The proposed requirement is for NWC to continue procurement of equipment required to sustain this environment. Currently, this equipment is highly specific and NWC is currently using Nutanix proprietary Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI). This requirement has historically been sole sourced to the brand name Nutanix and competed amongst authorized Nutanix resellers, most recently under contract N00189-23-F-Z004. Nutanix is currently the only known company who can provide equipment that is interoperable with NWCs systems. The anticipated period of performance for this Firm Fixed Price contract is 25 November 2023 through 22 November 2024. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 541519. Interested offerors possessing equipment that is capable of becoming interoperable with NWCs current system are invited to respond to this source-sought synopsis by providing their capability information via the submission of an executive summary, no more than one (1) page in length. All submissions are required to be submitted via email to thomas.r.ryan36.civ@us.navy.mil no later than 3:00pm (local time/Philadelphia, PA) on 15 November 2023.
